SMF at the 2015 Party Conferences

The 2015 party conferences present an exciting time to participate in crucial debates and discussions.

Building on the continued success of the Social Market Foundation’s previous conference programmes, we are now seeking sponsors to work with us at the Conservative, Labour, Liberal Democrat and SNP conferences this Autumn. If you are interested in working with us during the 2015 party conference season or would like more information about the opportunities for partnership, please contact our Events Manager, Michelle Cremin via michelle@smf.co.uk.

Following the most closely fought election campaign in decades, the UK now has a Conservative majority government.

In the context of such a dramatic shift in the UK’s political landscape and with many major policy challenges ahead, the 2015 party conference season promises to be one of the most interesting and significant for years. There has rarely been a more important time for open discussion, and the opportunity to make an impact during this year’s party conference season with well-informed debates and bold, high-quality policy events is immense.

OUR REPUTATION

The SMF is an independent public policy think tank. We are not politically aligned and have members from all political parties on our Board of Trustees and Advisory Panel. Our work spans public service reform and the social market economy, and champions ideas that marry a pro-market orientation with concern for social justice. Since its inception in 1989, the SMF has gained an enviable reputation for the rigour of its research, driving policy debate based on sound argument and clear evidence.

We work with politicians from across the political spectrum. In the last year, we have published pamphlets by MPs including Dominic Raab, David Willetts and Liam Byrne; as well as hosting events with Matt Hancock, Andrea Leadsom, George Freeman, Chris Leslie, Chuka Umunna, Liz Kendall, Norman Lamb and Tim Farron.

PARTNERING WITH US

We run a successful high profile programme of fringe events at party conferences, undertaking speaker invitations and bookings, liaison and briefings, venue and catering logistics, marketing and promotional opportunities and comprehensive traditional and social media coverage.
