Prior to joining the SMF in November 2007, Jessica worked as a social researcher in both Communities and Local Government and the Home Office, most recently supporting the Independent Commission on Local Councillors. She has a master’s degree from University College London (SSEES) and an undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Keble College, Oxford. She has previously worked as an academic researcher, examining a range of issues from participation in social housing to civic identity in Russia; has been an independent district councillor; and currently chairs a Community Land Trust in the West Country.
