Rena joined the SMF in October 2007 as a researcher. She has a degree in Cultural Studies from the European University Viadrina in Frankfurt (Oder), Germany, and a Masters in European Political Economy from the London School of Economics. At the SMF she has been working on a project looking at the role of behavioural economics in public policy and on welfare to work. Prior to joining the SMF in November 2007, Jessica worked as a social researcher in both Communities and Local Government and the Home Office, most recently supporting the Independent Commission on Local Councillors. She has a master’s degree from University College London (SSEES) and an undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Keble College, Oxford. She has previously worked as an academic researcher, examining a range of issues from participation in social housing to civic identity in Russia; has been an independent district councillor; and currently chairs a Community Land Trust in the West Country.
