To mark the launch of our publication Staying the Course, edited by Conor Ryan, The SMF and Policy Exchange will present a debate on changes to the participation age and qualifications.
The event will take place on Thursday, 27th March. Refreshments served from 12.30, and the debate taking place between 1 and 2pm. Venue TBC.
Presenting the case in support of proposals to change the participation age will be Barry Sheerman MP, Chair of the Children, Schools and Families Select Committee, and Ann Rossiter, Director of the SMF
Presenting the case against will be David Willetts MP, Shadow Secretary of State for Innovation, Universities and Skills, and Alan Smithers, Professor of Education and Director of the Centre for Education and Employment Research at the University of Buckingham.
The event will be chaired by Jane Scott Paul, Chief Executive of the AAT
