Encouraging people to move from benefits to employment by ‘making work pay’ is at the heart of the Coalition’s plans to reform welfare. However, with evidence that a substantial number of those claiming benefits are already employed, there have been growing calls for the Government to tackle the phenomenon of in-work poverty.
This event will ask if tax, wage subsidies and the minimum wages are the right tools to tackle in-work poverty and explore what the alternatives to this messy mixture may be. To book a place at this event please use Eventbrite below.
