The Social Markert Foundation (SMF) in partnership with FETL, the Further Education Trust for Leadership, have recently carried out analysis looking beyond the immediate policy and financial issues in Further Education to envisage the challenges and opportunities facing the sector over the next 10 years. In a new report, we identify a number of risks and advantages facing the sector – whether this is in the form of other types of providers (schools and higher education), methods of learning (such as edtech), learner demographics and broad shifts in policy priority.

Speakers:
Neil Carmichael MP, Member of Parliament for Stroud and Chair of the Education Select Committee
Angela O’Donoghue, Principal and Chief Executive, South Essex College
Nigel Keohane, Research Director, Social Market Foundation

Chair
Dame Ruth Silver, Founding President, FETL
