Human capital is criticial to economic success. Certainly it is the case that countries with a more skilled workforce have higher levels of economic growth. The critical question however, is how one can design an education and training system that delivers these higher levels of skill? She will then discuss ways in which education and training policy might be reformed to improve the skills of the UK workforce and hence contribute to future economic growth.
