SMF event on financial advice and guidance

SMF and Lloyds Banking Group joint launch event

Improving the financial planning and resilience of individuals and families is critical. To achieve this aim, we need a financial services market that is diverse, competitive and has the confidence of consumers. Financial guidance and advice has a crucial role to play in creating this.

Following the conclusions of the Treasury and the FCA’s Financial Advice Market Review published in 2016, this research assesses the latest position on the affordability and accessibility of advice and guidance; and the propensity of consumers to seek it out. The research will also cover how recent developments in automated and technology-assisted advice provision are starting to help consumers, and the issues faced by these new forms of advice in reaching larger consumer numbers.
