Tackling London’s disability pay gap: what next for policymakers?

At this event Peabody and the Social Market Foundation launched the third edition of the Peabody Index. The Index tracks the key issues facing low-income Londoners using official data sources and surveys of a thousand Peabody tenants.

Our third edition focusses on the labour market challenges faced by Londoners living with a long-term illness or disability. Evidence suggests that they are more likely to be unemployed and, in work, face a substantial “disability pay gap”.

There is much more that could be done to make London a better place to work for those with an illness or a disability – something we wish to discuss at this event.
