Richard Disney is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at the University of Sussex, having previously been a full-time Professor of Economics at the Universities of Nottingham, London and Kent. He is a specialist on the economics of labour markets and other areas of applied microeconomics, on which he has published numerous refereed articles and several books. He has been on advisory committees to several UK governments and worked as consultant for international bodies including the World Bank and IMF. He served as a member of the NHS Pay Review Body from 2003-09 and the Senior Salaries Review Body from 2009-14.
